Where Furniture Meets Home

The family legacy continues

By Jillian Chandler

A warm and welcoming experience awaits you at Beck’s Furniture Store in Bonners Ferry. They have been serving the community for nearly 25 years, and Beck’s has become a staple in our community, not only for offering an incredible selection of fine furniture to suit your needs and style, but for their hospitality and professional service.

Richard and Sherry Beck are the proud owners of Beck’s Furniture Store and bring their years of experience and expertise to the business. The couple began refinishing and reupholstering furniture part time more than 40 years ago—in 1979. With an increasing demand for their services, the Becks decided to pursue their passion full time and opened as a furniture refinishing business in 1984. By 1996, it had evolved into a furniture retail store, with the couple expanding the retail space in 2002 in order to provide a larger selection to their clients.

In 2015, their eldest son, Rob Beck, returned to continue the furniture legacy to the community. A graduate of the College of Business at the University of Idaho, he brings with him 20-plus years of experience in the computer technology and business fields. "I am so grateful that I was able to return to my hometown and grow the store to match the community's home furnishing needs," he smiles. Today, he is the manager of Beck’s Furniture Store.

Whether you’re in the market for a new dining room table, living room set, or considering updating the look of your bedroom, Beck’s Furniture features quality and affordable items for nearly every room in your home. They also offer mattresses, bedding, custom upholstery, area rugs, lighting and accessories. Some brands that they carry are A-America, Ashley, Englander and Best Chairs.

"Why are you searching online for what you already have in town?" asks Rob. "You don't have to go somewhere else to get great furniture; we are close and convenient. At Beck's, we work to stay current on styles and have an excellent selection on our showroom floor. We provide service that the internet can never provide.”

Beck's is a proud member of a Montana-based buyer's group, AMI Furniture Leaders (FurnitureLeaders.com). The retailer-owned not-for-profit corporation buys collectively to achieve the best possible pricing, product, service, terms and flow of goods, providing members access to lines only available to major accounts. Ultimately, this allows Beck's access to a wider selection and styles.

It is important to Richard, Sherry and Rob that their customers “feel at home” while they shop in their store and are ready to offer their customers guidance and information to help them in making the best decision to meet their needs. The Becks take care of their customers. Every delivery arrives with professional service including product assembly and placement in any room—even upstairs or downstairs. If there is ever an issue with a piece of furniture purchased from them, they will service it.

Beck's Furniture was built by dedicated employees and loyal customers from the community. Rob is excited to announce that he’s building a new team with the addition of Brenda Solt, who is adding her designer’s eye to the store. Loyal employees both past and present have greatly contributed to the store’s success. "We are aligning the store to serve members of this community for the next 50 years," affirms Rob.

The Becks recognize that they would not have had the success they’ve seen if it weren’t for the local community, who continues to do its part in shopping locally and supporting their local businesses.

“My parents and I can’t begin to express how blessed we’ve been to have that kind of support for the past 40 years,” says Rob. They are proud to support local schools, organizations and events!

If new furniture is in your future, the team at Beck’s Furniture Store is ready to help you find the perfect piece to add to your home.
