Since June 1, 2021, Krystal Maas has been bringing her talent and expertise to her clients at her beauty and nail salon in Bonners Ferry—BellaGentè.
Krystal was 22 and a single mother to her 6-month-old son when she had the opportunity to pursue a career as a nail technician, attending the Sandpoint School of Hair Design. “It was the best decision I ever made for the two of us,” she shares, adding, “I’ve been blessed to work within this business for almost 12 years!”
Over the years she worked a couple days per week as a nail tech while she and her husband Willie were raising and growing their family. Once their youngest was 5 and off to kindergarten, it was time for Krystal to decide her next step. With her husband’s unwavering support, she decided it was time to open her own salon—and that day, the two began their search for a space.
“We converted an old dental office into a full-service salon in four weeks!” says Krystal proudly. “We worked countless hours into late evenings with our children and his crew.” As BellaGentè celebrated its one-year anniversary earlier this year, Krystal credits her husband for being her biggest fan and supporter. “He has been in my corner for nine-and-a-half years, and I am so thankful for him,” she smiles. “He pushed me to be my best I can be and shows his love for me daily and how proud he is of me. I can’t thank him enough for choosing me to be his wife and share this life together. We encourage each other to reach for our goals and stand by one another to achieve them. He knew I could do it, so that’s exactly what we did and opened BellaGentè.
The salon has quickly made a name for itself in the community. The moment you walk in the door, you become a part of their cozy family environment that Krystal had envisioned. “We make sure that you and your family are comfortable and get the best treatment while in our salon,” she affirms. “Bring your children to our playroom if needed, kick back and enjoy a nice hot or cold beverage, and we will take care of the rest!”
The salon offers manicures and pedicures, acrylics and gel sets, teeth whitening, full-service hair, eyelash extensions and lash products, face waxing, and tanning. You will find beautiful jewelry you can purchase as well.
Krystal is grateful for her “salon sisters,” Lydia, Amanda, Bri, Tasha, Nicole and Inga, who all work together to bring Krystal’s vision to life. “Thank you so much for being a part of BellaGentè. You mean so much to me!” Krystal is humbled by the Bonners Ferry community, and beyond, who have supported her endeavor. “I love the people I get to connect with each day, getting to know them and their families. I enjoy the stories and laughs with each appointment we share together. I’ve grown close to many of my clients that I’m so happy to call friends.”
