BFHS Cheer Team is hosting a second tryouts this year to recruit members to the team for the winter sports season. They are looking for energetic, spirited members for the positions of cheerleaders, stuntmen, mascot and team manager.
During the winter sports season, cheerleaders will cheer at all home Varsity basketball games and wrestling matches, league away games and districts, and compete at up to five cheerleading competitions.
There will be a tryout meeting for athletes and parents to attend on Monday, October 26, at 6pm at Bonners Ferry High School. During this meeting, they will discuss the requirements for cheer members, schedule for the upcoming season, and answer questions.
All athletes trying out MUST have a current physical on file with BFHS, COVID Waiver signed, and have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. (Additional eligibility information is available at the BFHS office.)
Tryout practices will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (October 27, 28 and 29) 4:30 to 6pm at the BFHS Gymnasium. During tryout practices, participants will learn two cheers, a dance, tumbling, kicks and jumps to perform for the judges on Friday, October 30, for the final Team Tryouts. The judging panel may consist of previous cheer coaches, BCSD staff members, cheer alumni, community members and/or the current BFHS Cheer Team Coach.
