Across Bonners Ferry, the Badger spirit runs deep. Leading the charge is the Bonners Ferry Badger Booster Club, a group devoted to ensuring every high school athlete and activity has the support to succeed.
The club’s mission is simple: to provide financial and community support for all Bonners Ferry High School activities and programs. From fundraisers and events to partnerships with local businesses, the Boosters play a vital role in making sure students have what they need to succeed both on and off the field.
The Booster Club’s roots stretch back many years, beginning with a small group of parents and educators whose passion for supporting students helped build the foundation for what the organization has become today. That dedication continues, driven by community members who recognize the value of teamwork, effort, and pride in local youth.
Raising funds to support these programs is no small task. Each year, the Boosters host a range of events, including BBQing at the Bonners Ferry Tractor Pull, Mountain West Bank homecoming BBQ, and the annual Booster golf tournament at Mirror Lake Golf Course. Athletes also participate by selling Booster Club cards each fall, helping to strengthen the bond between the community and its young athletes.
The impact of these efforts is evident throughout the school. “Last year, we helped purchase the new electronic score table in the gymnasium with the support of Universal Well Drilling and Mi Pueblo Authentic Mexican Food,” shares President Shelly Kramer. It’s one of many examples of how local businesses and volunteers come together to make improvements that benefit students for years to come.
Beyond funding equipment and uniforms, the Boosters take pride in supporting teams that qualify for state competitions, covering items like T-shirts, meals, or even a spirit bus. “We have a standard giving to our athletes that head to state,” Kramer says. “Some funds will also help with purchasing half of the Hudl membership.”
That generosity extends to a larger vision for the future. “Boosters are about community,” Kramer adds. “The goal is to resurface the track at the high school. This project will take hundreds of thousands of dollars, but we’re hopeful we can secure local grants and keep fundraising.”
Community members and businesses interested in supporting the Boosters can connect through the club’s Facebook @BF Badger Booster Club, email badgerboosters9b@gmail.com, or reach out directly to a board member, including President Shelly Kramer, Treasurer Anne Tompkins, Heather Foster, Kendra Maas, or Heidi Stockton
From flipping burgers to organizing tournaments, the Bonners Ferry Badger Booster Club continues to bring the community together in support of its youth—because Bonners Ferry always finds a way to say, “GO BADGERS!”
