Nestled in beautiful Bonners Ferry, amongst vast fields, with mountains as your backdrop, you will find Jantz Barn. Owned by Tim and Tina Jantz on their expansive property, the barn has been transformed from a place to store hay to a beautiful location to host that perfect event.
“In 2018, I was engaged and looking for a place to get married,” shares Moriah Sieverkropp, daughter of Tim and Tina. “I found nothing that felt right for my husband-to-be Karl and myself. At the same time, my best friend also got engaged and was finding the same thing.”
Two weddings, no location, and that would be the inspiration behind transforming Jantz Barn into an event venue!
“This was my dad’s hay barn and was never a plan to be a wedding location. But, with a fast wedding, my best friend was the first to get married there in October of 2018 (we still had hay in the barn),” Moriah shares. “The spring of 2019, and a lot of work later, I was married there, and the calls started coming in.”
Today, Moriah manages Jantz Barn with the help of owners Tim and Tina. With a background as manager for Hallmark and planning Hallmark events for all the holidays, it was the perfect opportunity for her to put her experience to work in a larger capacity.
This “rustic barn with antique flare” provides that neighbor-next-door feel, offers an open canvas, and allows couples to decorate the space according to their taste, style and budget—with a lot of room to personalize the space to their wedding wants. It truly reflects that DIY wedding or event. “It is really up to the couple on how much they want to do with the space,” Moriah smiles.
When it comes to what Moriah finds the most rewarding part of her job, it’s having the opportunity to help transform Jantz Barn into the venue of her clients’ dreams. “I love seeing couples’ eyes light up as they arrive at the barn on their wedding day, surrounded by their loved ones, the lights light up, the décor is up, and they take it all in—not believing it’s real!”
Moriah invites anyone looking for an event venue to visit Jantz Barn to discover all of the small details that make this barn so unique (think swing set, silo bar, outhouses, and antiques throughout). In addition to weddings, they’ve held anniversary parties, barn dances, graduation parties, and more.
For those looking to secure Jantz Barn, Moriah encourages you to call or text 208.290.8257 or message them via Facebook (search “Jantz Barn”). “We book anywhere from two years to one year out,” she says. “But always call for and ask about open dates. We still have many weekends open in summer 2024—though they are beginning to fill up fast!”
The wedding of your dreams awaits … at Jantz Barn.
